The BCP places a tremendous amount of emphasis on establishing and developing educational links between schools in Bristol, Guangzhou and the wider Guangdong Province. As a result we have set up a small education working group whose aim is to strengthen these ties. Anyone interested in joining this informal working group is therefore encouraged to contact Tony Presdcott - Presdcott@aol.com

- Chinese language (simple greeting and Characters, learning to count 1-10)
- Brush painting (with Chinese music)
- Calligraphy
- Origami (Japanese)
- Animation film
- Chinese food
- Chinese story time and Lion dancing
If you wish to arrange a workshop, please contact either BCP or guangzhou.club@googlemail.com
GUANGZHOU CLUB
Penny Lee, from Guangzhou, has created the "Guangzhou Club" which is a series of 10 x 45 minute fun-packed sessions aimed at primary school pupils.
Each session focuses on an artifact from the artifacts box. Children learn the history of the artifact, the Mandarin words relating to it, and are then able to have a go at writing the symbols using Chinese calligraphy. Sessions end with a story or a song.
The Guangzhou Club is a great way of introducing China and Chinese into the curriculum or as a lunchtime or after school club.
