4th Anniversary Celebration at JURYS Hotel.

Bristol China Partnership celebrated our 4th anniversary at the JURY’S Hotel on the 15th October 2002, where members and friends from all over of the country travelled to Bristol in order to celebrate this very special occasion.

The guests of honour included Madame Zhang Xiaokang, Minister Councellor of the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in London and wife of the Ambassador of China to the United Kingdom; The Rt. Hon. the Lord Mayor of Bristol, Councillor Bill Martin; Sir Robert Wall; Councillor Graham Robertson OBE and Mrs Joyce Robertson; Mr Zhang Jimimg, from the Embassy of the People's Republic of China; Timothy L. Jones, Director of International Affairs at the University of Bristol; David Gillatt, Urological Consultant and Honarary Senior Lecturer at the University of Bristol; Mr. David Parkinson, Managing Director of Dynamic Processing Solutions plc and Mrs. Patricia Parkinson; Wai Fong Lee, Chairperson of Swansea Chinese Community Co-op Centre; and Mr Wai Man Wong, Honorary Chairman of the Chinese Association South West Region.

The programme of events provided a stimulating and entertaining mix of social and cultural exchanges and musical demonstrations. Here are just some of the highlights:

The Raffle

The Lady Mayoress Mrs Susan Ann Martin reads a winning ticket ably assisted by Peter Harvey and Wallace Kwong. Amongst the items raffled were A weekend for two in a Jury's Hotel (Jury's); a Glass Ornament (Kam Wong); 5 Gift Hampers (Kwik Move); a Chinese Silk picture (Mr Yim); 4 Bristol City Match tickets (B.C.F.C.); a dinner for 4 at Cheung Kong (Wallace Kwong); a Bristol Blue Vase (Bristol Blue Galss); a dinner for 4 at Jade Palace (Mr H Ho); bottles of Champagne (John Hughes); Garden equipment (Precision Profiles) and many others too numerous to mention but must gratefully received.
