New Appointments in Guangzhou

The Bristol China Partnership is pleased to announce that the former Mayor of Guangzhou, Mr. Lin Shusen, has been elected Director General of the Guangzhou People's Congress. Mr. Zhang Guangning, former Deputy mayor of Guangzhou, has also been elected Mayor of Guangzhou. Mr. Lin Shusen has visited Bristol on several occasions over the last few years.

The announcements were made at the 1st session of the 12th Guangzhou People's Congress held during March in Guangzhou.

Mr. Lin Shusen and Mr. Zhang Guangning "will take over the responsibilities of their predecessors to continually push the friendly relations, exchanges and cooperation between our two cities to another higher stage" reported Fang Xiaoming, Director General of the Foriegn Affairs Office.
