GUANGZHOU CLUB

Penny Lee, a member of the Bristol China Partnership, who is from Guangzhou, has created the "Guangzhou Club" which is a series of 10 x 45 minute fun-packed sessions aimed at primary school pupils.

Each session focuses on an artefact from the artefacts box. Children learn the history of the artefact, the Mandarin words relating to it, and are then able to have a go at writing the symbols using Chinese calligraphy. Sessions end with a story or a song.

The Guangzhou Club is a great way of introducing China and Chinese into the curriculum or as a lunchtime or after school club.
